  • 01 - Consultation

    You’ll have a consultation with our dentist and treatment coordinator. This involves a chat to find out what you want to achieve and also what is possible based on the dentist’s examination. Your teeth and gums need to be healthy before any cosmetic procedures are carried out. We will provide you with a detailed treatment plan and full costings at your consultation.

  • 02 - Tooth Whitening

    Sometimes patients wish to undergo a course of tooth whitening prior to having their bonding carried out. This brings the shade of your natural teeth up to the desired colour so everything matches perfectly when you have your bonding carried out. Of course, the tooth whitening is optional and not all patients require it.

  • 03 - Bonding

    The dentist will apply the composite resin to each tooth individually, sculpting and shaping it according to your plan. Once happy, the resin is cured using a light and finished off with a polish to give it that lasting shine.

  • 04 - Review

    We are confident you will love your new smile however we give you a few weeks to get used to the change then invite you back for any minor tweaks should you want them.

  • Composite bonding is suitable for most patients. It improves the shape and proportions of the teeth to give a more even and harmonious smile. It can also be used to treat discolouration, chips and cracks in the teeth.

  • With proper cleaning and maintenance composite bonding will last 5-7 years. You then have the option of having it replaced or removed altogether. 

  • Your composites will require proper care and maintenance to keep them looking their best. We would strongly advise keeping up your regular dental check-ups and cleans as well as good oral hygiene with brushing and flossing twice daily. You should also avoid hard or sticky foods that could damage your composites. The composite material, like your natural teeth can be susceptible to staining as a result of certain foods and drinks eg. Coffee, red wine, curry etc. We recommend having the composites polished regularly by a qualified clinician.

  • Not at all. Composite bonding does not generally require any tooth preparation so no anaesthetic is needed. It is normally completed in a single visit so you leave our clinic that same day with your brand-new smile!

  • This cosmetic procedure is minimally invasive and generally no tooth preparation is required. You can have the composites removed years later and you will still have your natural, healthy teeth underneath.
